Vision of Angels

About

The Vision of Angels series was created to reflect the grandness that surrounds each of us. The images make clear that, whether we are celebrating joyous moments or suffering through times of difficulty, we are not alone. The divine plays a hand in our times of happiness and lifts us when we need solace.

The artist, BenWill, writes, “I faced much difficulty in my 20’s. Spending time living out of my car, I wondered if my life would ever matter. Shortly thereafter, a life-threatening infection caused me to briefly slip into death while on the operating table. At that moment, I realized that life is to be celebrated with a joyous and compassionate heart. There was also a deep awareness that we are not alone – that a divinity surrounds us all and is with us at each moment. The painting of angels is to provide a visual reminder of the grace that is inherent within each of us. I often feel compelled by a feeling of a power greater than myself as I create these works. These images denote the crucial need to be of service to a cause or purpose greater than ourselves. I truly feel honored to do this work.”

BenWill
Artist Biography

Correlations between the many aspects of nature, culture and relationships create a symbiotic tie within the work of BenWill (Benjamin Williamson). His passions lie in being an observer as he captures the unique and the profound within the small moments of life.

"To create art, to engross another into my imaginative spaces, has been my lifelong consuming passion"  -Benjamin Williamson

Benjamin’s love of painting began at the age of ten, winning numerous awards through his youth as he created images to describe his observations of the world around him. A childhood spent in Curacao and Southern California, as a surfer and motocross racer, and in his travels throughout the Americas, fostered a love of natural spaces and interest in the commonality of the human experience. It has always been his belief that art is an important marker of culture and society that creates a means for reflection, discourse, and a fostering of the imagination.

Benjamin takes as his influence the works of the post-Impressionist and Expressionist painters, such as Van Gogh, Munch, and even the contemporary works of Leroy Nieman. By using oil paint with acrylic, he fuses dramatic brush strokes with inventive color variations. Thus, Benjamin uses the visual medium to bring forth the emotion and energy inherent within all aspects of the external, and internal, realms.

The works of BenWill can be found in collections throughout North America and Europe.
